語言翻譯/英語形容詞轉譯現象
在很多情況下，將英語的“形容詞十名詞短語”譯成漢語的主謂結構，譯文顯得順口。如：
She spoke in a high voice。她講話的聲音很尖。
This engine develops a high torque。這台發電機產生的轉矩很大。
英語中一些表示知覺，情感，欲望等心理狀態的形容詞同連系動詞構成複合謂語時，翻譯時可將形容詞譯成動詞：
You are ignorant of the duties you undertake in marrying.
你完全不懂你在婚姻方面應承擔的責任。
The following plan may become available during the next decade.
下列計畫在10年間可能實現。
Such criticisms have become familiar in his 1ater commentaries on America.
類似的批評在他後來寫的評論美國的文章中屢見不鮮。
He is truly sorry for his past， and he has undertaken to give up motor-cars entirely and for ever。
他對過去追悔莫及，並保證永遠不開汽車。
Salt and Sugar are both solub1e in water。鹽和糖都溶于水。
為了便於表達，一些英語詞可譯為漢語名詞。例如：
Contamination leads to 1ower yield．污染導致低產。
After a few months， our just-in-time system became so efficient.
幾個月後，我們的“準時供貨”辦法變得很有成效。
I wish he was blind．我希望他是個瞎子。
由於語言習慣不同，英語裏的形容詞有時譯成漢語副詞：
He asked me for a full account of myself and fami1y．
他詳盡地問起我自己和我家裏的情況。
Another war will be the absolute end of our country。
再來一次戰爭我們空虛國家就會徹底毀滅了。
